Cat and David - Colorful Scottish wedding at Morrocan Inspired - Gran Villa Rosa
Going through The Gallery of this epic wedding, I was reminded of how seriously lucky I am with my couples! Cat and David: absolute LEGENDS. They initially contacted me searching for a photographer that would catch “ in the moment” images, with both coming from a design background, they were keen for some non conventional cool images that would tell the story of their day. They went on to say “We’re both pretty laid back and intend our wedding to be so. Neither or us are religious so it will be fairly non traditional. The aim is to bring good people together for good food, good wine and good fun” and that’s exactly what happened - this wedding was so much fun!
The Venue: Gran Villa Rosa is ever so Grand like its name suggests, it reminds me of a Moroccan palace and yet its Location is in Villanova i la Geltru, Barcelona. I love the refurbishment and styling its recently undergone. Its a photographers dream with so many fantastic bedrooms, lounge areas and incredible grounds.
The getting ready: An absolute joy to photograph, Cat had chosen a mix of rusty burnt orange toned dresses for the bridesmaids and i must say I adored the mismatched shoes. Cat went for a simple wedding dress topped off with a super pretty veil and killer accessories, those shoes! the girl has taste! The dancing started way before night time with a good bounce on the elegant velvet sofas and a spin with dad to top tune “ youve got the love” pre ceremony. David and the lads had some heavy duty getting ready to do with the full kilt, wool socks and brogues, only for the brave in the Spanish sunshine.
The sweetest ceremony: Led by Davids Auntie Angie, who pulled off her first time celebrant duty with flair and warmth. Lots of laughs, abundant tears from the bridesmaids, hand tying , whisky drinking ( bit of a tradition!) confetti and then a romantic little stroll around the grounds for a couple shoot while the guests headed pool side for aperitif.
Gran Villa Rosa has a fantastic indoor setting for dining and the couple made super cool table placements inspired by their much loved Labradoodle, Noodle. Speeches were emotional and Cat and David delivered a beaut of a speech to say thankyou to their family and guests. The cutting of the cake happened spontaneously at the side of the dance floor, it was a pretty hilarious and perfect cake cut as far as cake cuts go. Spontaneity rules!
The first dance and party were awesome, David loves his music and although this was an intimate wedding with under 70 guests everyone rocked the dance floor, weddings are after all the rare occasion where you get to rave with your mum and dad! Great tunes had everyone going into the early hours, I couldn’t resist going back for one last dance myself!
I have literally posted a ton of pics below, Ive kept it to moments, not much decor or venue as I really just wanted to share the colorful vibe, laughter ( Cat literally never stops laughing) and seriously fun times everyone had.
