Gemma and Keiran-El Far-Costa Brava Wedding
"We are under the same Sky you and I"
Gemma and Keiran's wedding was a personal fave from wedding season 2017, they said I do at the spectacular El far Hotel Restaurant, which has the most beautiful views of the sea and Costa Brava coast line. The sky seems so immense, its pretty breathtaking.
When I first met Gemma and Kieran for a little couple pre - wedding shoot they proclaimed to be super camera shy and awkward.. The couple shoot clearly worked some magic and put them at ease with the camera as Gemma was one of the most serene and natural Brides I have ever photographed and both of them brought some serious moves to the dance floor ( yep you have to keep scrolling way on down!) I thought it would be cool to do something different in this post and ask Gemma a few questions so she could tell you all about the day from her perspective, that way you brides get top tips first hand from the girl herself :-)

What were your fave moments Gemma?
Without a doubt the 5 minutes we had with each other immediately after the ceremony before the confetti throw - you took a great pic of us through the door without us noticing! We also absolutely loved the sunset photo shoot we snuck out for in between our first and second course at dinner time. We had been told by lots of people to remember to take little moments for ourselves throughout the day so it was something we really focused on. We had such a fun time on that photo shoot looking out over the stunning view of Lla Franc and the sea. This would be our number one tip for any other couples getting married -the day absolutely flies past and so much of it is a blur because of excitement, nerves and happiness - basically alllll the emotions, so it's super important to take a couple of sneaky moments to just breathe and take everything in.
Did you have a theme?
We didn't have a theme but the word we kept coming back to was "elegant". We wanted refined details but not too many of them and definitely nothing fussy - we wanted it to feel relaxed and elegant
Gemma your dress was the perfect dress for you tell us about it..
I wore the Vinenta dress from the Atelier range at Pronovios, It was my dream dress! I got my veil from Pronvias too
And Kierans groom attire?
Kieran bought his suit from Boggi Milano, Jermyn Street, London and the Ushers suits from - Yardsmen, Waterloo, London
What about all the little details? and those seriously sexy shoes!
I wore Valentino Rockstuds, rose gold and diamond tear drop shaped stud from Monica Vinader, a small rose gold, diamond and turquoise evil eye by Astley Clark (as my something blue), I wore a Penhaligons perfume called Vaara (a scent I chose especially for the wedding) and had fig scented candles by L'artisan in the bridal suite and around the venue.
Gemmas Top Top tip!!!l - I chose a new perfume (Penhaligons - Vaara) for my wedding day because I wanted a smell that will always remind me of the day. I now wear it whenever Kieran and I go on a date or I simply want to transport myself back to how I felt on the day - it's a great way to keep the memory alive and the smell will always remind me of how special the day was.
Who was your photographer and what kind of photos did you want from your day? ( hehe cheeky question)
Jo Kemp. SHE IS AMAZING! You know when you meet someone and you instantly want to be their friend? This is how I felt :) We wanted really candid, natural shots, nothing too posed.
Telll us about your flowers and your cake.
My florist was Magda Planas - local to Lla Franc. A very large succulent surrounded by small blush and cream colored roses, white lisianthus, blush astilbe, eucalyptus, (Can i just add that the flower arch was sooo beautiful and Pip from Philippa Events did a killer job on the tables!)Our cake was a three tiered naked carrot cake decorated with succulents and small blush coloured roses.
Your make up artist and hairdresser for the day?
Teresa Snowballs team did our hair and makeup. I can't remember the girls names (which I feel terrible about) but they were soooo wonderful. They were so relaxed and just went about their business of making us all look and feel our best with no fuss. They kept the bridal suite serene and peaceful, which is just what I was after.
The party bit (which i might add was one of the most rocking wedding partys of my season!
DJ - Roger from El Far - he was a dream to work with and blew the roof off the place on the night ( yes I can confirm)
If you could some up your wedding day in one sentence what would it be?
The best day of our lives. It's a feeling like nothing else - we were walking on air for weeks afterwards.
And for me this wedding was everything a wedding can be.. fun, relaxed, stylish, elegant,Rockin !and a total Joy to photograph.
